1 Wer findet Worte, Dir zu danken?
O Vater, Deine Lieb' ist groß,
Ist unaussprechlich, ohne Schranken:
Du gabst den Sohn aus Deinem Schoß.
Du gabst Ihn hin, den Eingebornen,
Du sandtest Ihn zu uns herab,
Für Deine Feinde, die Verlornen,
Gabst Du Ihn hin in Tod und Grab.

2 O wohl uns, daß Du voll Erbarmen,
Daß Du, o Gott, die Liebe bist,
Daß wir in treuen Vaterarmen
So sicher ruhn durch Jesum Christ!
In Ihm gabst Du uns Heil und Leben,
Ja, alles — o wer liebt so sehr!
Ein Gott, der Seinen Sohn gegeben,
Ein solcher Gott versagt nichts mehr.
