1 Thou wilt shew me, mighty Father,
Step by step, the wondrous way;
Side by side, thro’ Time’s long twilight,
Press we to the dawning day!

2 Side by side, we know not whither,
But with Whom we know full well;
Side by side, henceforth for ever
With Thee, veiled Emmanuel.
