62. The Lord is My Banner

1 "The Lord is my banner," To battle I go;
His might in each conflict I claim;
He putteth to flight, as I march, every foe,
My pow'r is the strength of His name.

Chorus:
"The Lord is my Banner, my Sun and my Shield,"
My "Rock," and my "Fortress" is He.
No foe however strong, but to Him must quickly yield,
My Saviour doth battle for me.

2 "The Lord is my banner," As onward I press
My eyes on the colors I'll keep;
Though battles be fierce, I am sure He will bless,
My Lord will not slumber nor sleep. [Chorus]

3 "The Lord is my banner," No struggle so long,
His arm cannot carry me through;
He leadeth me out to the war with a song,
And shows me just what I'm to do. [Chorus]
