754. O God of Love, Be Near, We Pray

1 O God of love be near we pray:
Shine Thou upon us from above;
Two hearts are joined in one this day,
One heart, one soul, one life, one love.

2 Watch over them, guide tenderly:
Abundant blessings Lord bestow;
O keep them ever near to Thee,
That all Thy goodness they may know.

3 If shadows come, be thou their light;
Lead gently on to perfect day;
Grant faith and hope and courage bright,
And bless with peace their love-crowned way.
