68. Guide me O thy great Jehovah

1 Guide me, O thou Great Jehovah,
Pilgrim through this barren land.
I am weak, but thou art mighty;
Hold me with thy powr'ful hand.

2 Open now the crystal fountains
Whence the living waters flow;
Let the fiery, cloudy pillar
Lead me all my journey through.

3 Feed me with the heavenly manna
In this barren wilderness;
Be my sword, and shield, and banner;
Be the Lord my righteousness.

4 When I tread the verge of Jordon,
Bid my anxious fears subside;
Death of death, and hell's destruction,
Land me safe on Canaan's side.
