82. The Mission Band

1 Come and join our mission band,
Come and lend a helping hand,
Sending out to ev'ry land,
Tidings of our King.

Chorus:
We will send abroad the gospel story,
Gladly send the precious gospel story,
Tell the world of Jesus and his gory,
We will tell the wondrous love of Christ our King.

2 Many children far away,
Never to "our Father" pray,
No sweet Bible verses say,
No glad praises sing. [Chorus]

3 These poor children do not know,
When they see the blossoms grow,
That "our Father" made them so,
Made the birds to sing. [Chorus]

4 Let us give, and work, and pray,
For the children far away,
And the last command obey
Of our Saviour King. [Chorus]
