Title: By the Waters of Babylon
Author (stanzas 2-4): Carl P. Daw Jr., b. 1944
Publication Date: 2012
Topic: Atheism; Biblical Names and Places: Babylon; Biblical Names and Places: Edom (18 more...)
Source: Stanzas 1 and 5 Traditional
Language: English
Copyright: Sts. 2-4 © 1996, 2011 Hope Publishing Company
Tune Information
Key: a minor
Source: Traditional Jewish melody.
Notes: This is a wonderful three-part canon, but it may be a bit much to sing all the stanzas in canon. One option for singing all the stanzas is to have all sing st. 1 in unison; group 1 sing st. 2; group 2 sing st. 3; group 3 sing st. 4; sing st. 5 in canon several times, beginning with group 1 and adding groups 2 and 3, as indicated in the music. At the end, sing quietly.
