| Text: | Behold Thy Waiting Servant |
| Author: | Isaac Watts |
| Tune: | WETHERBY |
| Composer: | S.S. Wesley |
1 Behold thy waiting servant, Lord,
devoted to thy fear;
remember and confirm thy Word,
for all my hopes are there.
2 Thy mercies fill the earth, O Lord;
how good thy works appear!
Open my eyes to read thy Word
and see thy wonders there.
3 'Tis like a sun, a heav'nly light
that guides me all the day,
and through the dangers of the night
a lamp to lead my way.
4 O that thy statutes ev'ry hour
may dwell within my mind!
Thence I derive a quick'ning power,
and daily peace I find.
5 O that the Lord would guide my ways
to keep his statutes still:
O that my God may grant me grace
to know and do his will!
