| Tune: | [When the way is so dark] |
| Composer: | J. Lincoln Hall |
1 When the way is so dark
That I scarcely can see,
A dear loving Saviour
Calls sweetly to me;
He bids me look upward,
Tho’ the skies are so dim,
He bids me press onward,
Cling closer to Him.
2 His eye is on me
In darkness or light,
In storm or in sunshine,
His love always bright;
In sleeping or waking,
Where-ever I be,
I know He is watching,
And caring for me.
3 Then when death comes at last,
And the Jordan I see;
O Jesus, my Saviour,
My Guide Thou shalt be;
Tho’ stormy the waters,
Tho’ dark swells the tide,
No fears shall alarm me,
When I’m at Thy side.
