1 Adift on life’s perilous ocean,
No place from the tempest to hide,
Ye storm-toss’d now turn your boat homeward,
Where shelter and comfort abide.

Refrain:
O wanderer, out on life’s ocean,
Borne on by the treacherous tide,
If you take for your guide the dear Savior,
You will ev’ry tempest outride.

2 Beyond there are sorrows and dangers,
And rocks where the wild breakers deep;
The sinner that’s wrecked in the darkness,
Returns to the harbor no more. [Refrain]

3 There’s one who will faithfully guide you
Past dangers unseen on the deep;
He ruleth the wave and the tempest,
And Jesus is mighty to keep. [Refrain]
