Text: | Thy Kingdom Come |

Tune: | [Oh! daugher of Zion, awaken to duty] |
Composer: | L. W. Smith |
1 Oh! daughter of Zion, awaken to duty,
The Master is calling thee now to arise:
Enclothe thee in garments of love, truth and beauty,
Your Bridegroom is coming now soon from the skies.
Chorus:
Press on, press on, the kingdom is come,
The battle be fought, and the victory won;
When glory eternal, and life evermore
Shall be our reward on that sorrowless shore.
2 The night is far spent, and the daystar is nearing,
When darkness shall flee at the coming of dawn,
And glory transcendent, for all the God-fearing,
That waited, and watch'd for the morning so long. [Chorus]
3 The light of God's word, by his Prophets predicted,
Betokens the nearness of Salem's great King,
To pour out his wrath upon all the convicted,
But joy everlasting to all his saints bring. [Chorus]
4 The glory of nations is rapidly waning,
Earth's time-wrecks are scattered o'er sea and oe'r land;
But soon will Messiah, the last vict'ry gaining,
Establish his kingdom eternal and grand. [Chorus]
