83. Do What Will Count

1 Let us find some load we may lighten,
Where weary ones falter and fall;
Let us find some sad life we may brighten
With light that is shining for all.

Let us do what will count,
Let us do what will count in the kingdom of heav’n!
The things that will last when time shall be past
Are the only things ever worth while.

2 To the needy help may be given,
To lonely ones courage and joy;
Let us lay up our treasures in heaven,
Where nothing can ever destroy. [Refrain]

3 Let us haste to rescue the sinning
From dangerous paths they have trod;
Let us lead them to truest beginning
Of life in the kingdom of God. [Refrain]

4 Let us meet, with tender caressing,
The souls that are starving for love;
Let us joyfully carry a blessing,
As ever we journey above. [Refrain]
