1 We welcome now our Saviour, Who lay in calm repose, For over death he triumphed And from the grave He rose. 2 O Lord, Thou hast now conquered That strong and crafty foe; This giveth faith and comfort, For God is with us now! 3 The peace, which Thou hast brought us, All fear has put to flight; The righteous now in chorus Are singing with delight! 4 May we with consolation, Thy trophies with Thee share. O, that this great salvation, Extend here ev’rywhere! 5 Our sins have all been buried There in the grave with Thee. Oh, what a blessed comfort; We fear no enemy! 6 Lord, for this great salvation Be Thou forever praised, That after life’s temptations To heaven we’ll be raised. 7 We shall without despairing Go with Thee to the grave, And we Thy face beholding, May be forever safe. 8 Extend Thy banner o’er us, And guide us to the goal! Beyond the grave and darkness To heaven lead our souls. 9 What is there now to harm us? Of death we have no fear; We have in our Lord Jesus Found grace and mercy here!
