148. Noah’s ark long drifted

1 Noah’s ark long drifted On the surging flood, But with eyes uplifted, Trusted he in God. When throughout life’s journey Raging storms I see, This shall be my comfort: God is still with me. 2 Moses, brave and dauntless, Crossed the sea to land, Leading with him fearless Hosts of covenant; Thus resigned I’ll travel Through the desert sea, Trust my soul to Jesus; God is still with me. 3 Jonah’s hour of trial Led through night and fear; Yet God showed with power That His help was near. Thus in all distresses When by fear I’m tried, Hope my heart possesses: God is at my side! 4 Daniel’s den of lions Teaches true and sure, When on God depending, We can feel secure. So in all distresses I can pray to Thee; Faith my heart possesses; God is still with me. 5 Three men in the furnace Praised their God on high, Stood their foes confounded, Silenced scorn and lie. In reproach and censure I rest calm and free On this blessed promise: God is still with me. 6 Jesus’ death arena And His cross and grave Teach me wait serenely God’s will sure and safe; My support and pillar And my gain is He, My strong fort in terror; God is still with me. 7 He broke Peter’s fetters, Opened doors for Paul; He will those deliver Who trust Him in all. So I’ll wander gladly, Till my home I see, And in Zion’s mansion, God is still with me.
