240. Quiet Lamb and prince of peace

1 Quiet Lamb and Prince of Peace, Thirst for Thee shall never cease! Oh be near, Shepherd dear, That my heart be strong, no more to sin or fear! 2 May I love Thee faithfully, Childlike and obediently; May my mind ever find Favor to submit to Thy will, Lord so kind! 3 With a gentle spirit bless That is full of kindliness, That in me it may be The adornment, precious, and of worth to Thee. 4 Grant that I may here be brave, Loving Thee unto the grave, That in pain, storm and rain, I may be a lamb and lion in Thy name. 5 Keep me ever spotless, free, And that I may wakeful be, Oft to pray, night and day, And to travel faithfully the narrow way. 6 Lamb of God, who overcame, Give me grace in Jesus’ name, That in Thee I may be Able, through Thy blood, to win the victory. 7 Lead me then, when I must go Through death’s valley here below; Lord, in death give me faith, And protect and strengthen me in my last breath. 8 When Thou stand’st on Zion’s height, Grant that I stand at Thy right, From pain free, cleansed in Thee, Where Thou wilt, O Lamb, my light and temple be.
