Martin-Sellers Hymnal Collection: The hymnal collection of the Martin Music Library contains over 1,000 volumes. Chant, psalters, tunebooks, and hymnals dating back to a 1619 book of chant, a 1651 Sternhold and Hopkins, and Tate and Brady, A New Version of the Psalms of David (London: printed for the Company of Stationers, 1706) are representative of the rare collection. The collection continually adds new hymnals as they are published. The collection is dominantly used for research purposes, and is available for study during regular library hours. Particularly strong in Baptist hymnody. The collection development policy is to obtain a copy of every published hymnal. Some hymnals have been digitized: https://www.nobts.edu/library/hymnological-research/Default.html. Date range: 1619-present.
