The hymnals are representative of many periods from Gregorian chant to contemporary hymnals of major denominations, languages, and cultures. A large collections of hymns are available on compact discs and LP with 344 entries for sound recordings with HYMNS as a keyword subject heading search term. The University of Georgia Special Collections Libraries contains a number of printed scores and audio/visual resources available to researchers and includes John Garst's shapenote sing audio tapes from this area and a television program series featuring African-American gospel, etc.
