He received his BM from Oklahoma Baptist University, a MM from the University Oklahoma, and a PhD from North Texas States University. He was a high school music teacher, and professor of music at Oklahoma Baptist University and at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX.
