Lacy, William S., D.D., a member of the Committee which compiled The New Psalms & Hymns ... of the Presbyterian Church in the United States, 1901. "To this collection he contributed "Slowly sinks the setting sun" (Evening), where it is dated 1891. From the "Preface" we gather that Dr. Lacy died before the Psalms & Hymns were published.
