Wheaton, D.D., author of "'Tis sweet in the trials of conflict and sin" (Heaven Anticipated), in the Devotional Hymn & Tune Book, 1864, was born in Providence, Rhode Island, June 26, 1823, educated at Brown University and Newton Theological Institution, and entered the Baptist ministry in 1851.
