May be the same person as the much more prolific, equally poorly attested William Stevenson.

Stevenson, William Fleming, D.D., born at Strabane, Tyrone, Ireland, Sep. 20, 1832; educated at the University of Glasgow; became in 1860 Presbyterian minister at Rathgar, Dublin; and died there Sep. 16, 1886. The larger edition of his Hymns for the Church and Home, 1873, contains careful biographical and other notes. He also contributed to it a few translations from the German. [Rev. James Mearns, M.A.]
