John Wainwright United Kingdom. He published a collection of Psalm tunes, anthems, chants, and hymns. A talented musician, the following year he was appointed organist and singer at Manchester Collegiate Church (later the Manchester Cathedral). His son, Robert, succeeded him as organist after he died.
