A Mo­ra­vi­an min­is­ter, West taught in the Mo­ra­vi­an school in Ful­neck, Leeds; served as tu­tor and as­sist­ant min­is­ter in Bed­ford; as­sist­ant min­is­ter in Dub­lin; and min­is­ter in Grace­hill, North­ern Ire­land; Mir­field; Bath; Bris­tol; and Ty­ther­ton.
