Whitney, Frederic Augustus. (Quincy, Massachusetts, September 18, 1812-- ). Son of Rev. Peter Whitney. He graduated from Harvard in 1833, and from Harvard Divinity School in 1838. Took charge of the First Congregational Church at Brighton, near Boston, in 1843 and remained its pastor for sixteen years.
