Adam Michael Wood

Short Name: Adam Michael Wood
Full Name: Wood, Adam Michael

Adam Michael Wood is a hymnist, song writer, composer, and church musician. He served as the Music Director of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church (TEC) in Hurst, TX from 2010-2014. He was also the founding Music Director of the newly-formed Benedictine Community of John Cassian in Berkeley, CA, where he worked to meld Episcopal liturgy with Eastern Orthodox music. For many years, Adam was a regular contributor to the Roman Catholic traditional music blog The Chant Cafe and, for a short time, was the Chief Operating Officer of Illuminare Publications (now Source & Summit), during which time he served as Assistant Editor of the Lumen Christi Hymnal.

Adam's hymnody tends to have a special focus on feminist theology and feminine imagery for God, though this is not exclusively the case. In addition to hymn texts, Adam has composed choral works, congregational Mass settings, contemporary-styled liturgical music, praise and worship songs, and secular pop/folk music. Adam is the husband of the Rev. Nikky Wood, an Episcopal Priest. His website is adammichaelwood.com
