Representative Text

1 Art heavy laden?
The Master can see:
No cross so heavy
As He bore for thee!
Now He is saying
To each, “Follow me,
My grace is sufficient,
Sufficient for thee.”

Refrain:
The cross I have giv’n thee to bear,
I know why to thee it is giv’n,
Bear thy cross and a crown thou shalt wear,
I am fitting thy soul now for heav’n.

2 Tried like the Master,
The servant shall be:
Think how He suffered
That thou might’st be free!
Now He is saying:
“Press on trustingly,
My grace is sufficient,
Sufficient for thee.” [Refrain]

3 Able to succor,
The promise have we:
Bearing our burden
He died on the tree,
Now His is saying:
“Fight on manfully,
My grace is sufficient,
Sufficient for thee.” [Refrain]
