1 É nosso o lar dos céus, no qual não entra o mal:
Morada, junto ao santo Deus, na glória divinal.

2 O terno Pai dos céus conduz-nos pela mão
Ao lar bendito, que é de Deus a eterna habitação.

3 Morrendo sobre a cruz, Jesus nos redimiu
E nesse lar, na eterna luz, lugar nos garantiu.

4 O bom Consolador, Penhor que Deus nos deu,
Com alegria, paz e amor, nos guia para o céu.

5 Consolador sem par aqui será pra nós,
Até ouvirmos, nesse lar, de Cristo a amada voz.

6 Eternamente, então, folgando no Senhor,
No lar faremos, em canção, soar o Seu louvor.

Bennett, Henry, born at Lyme Regis, April 18, 1813, and died at Islington, Nov. 12, 1868. His hymns, written at various dates, were collected and published as follows:— (1) Hymns by H. B., Lond.: Printed for the Author, 1867. This contained 25 pieces. (2) Hymns by the late Henry Bennett, 2nd ed., 1869. This was published by request, with additional hymns (32 in all, and 6 unfinished). From these editions of his Hymns, “Cling to the Mighty One," and "I have a home above," are in extensive use.
