Cradled in the Arms of Love

Representative Text

1 God is a very present help
In trouble’s darkest hour,
To those who know His saving strength,
And trust His mighty pow’r.

Refrain:
Cradled in the arms of love,
Cradled in the arms of love,
The child of God may safely rest,
Cradled in the arms of love.

2 E’en tho’ the whelming floods prevail,
And rocks and mountains fall,
The trusting soul can never fail,
But triumph over all. [Refrain]

3 A river bright of truth and grace,
Proceedeth from God’s throne,
Refreshing all who seek His face,
His chosen and His own. [Refrain]

4 The nations to and fro are tossed,
As with the stormy wind;
Their anchor never can be lost,
Who God a refuge find. [Refrain]

5 He maketh war on earth to cease,
He breaks the spear and bow;
His glorious kingdom shall increase
And conquer every foe. [Refrain]

6 God doth among His people dwell,
Their strength doth ne’er remove;
Whate’er betide, with them ’tis well,
Safe in their Father’s love. [Refrain]
