Representative Text

1 Jesus, dear true bread of life,
Refuge in this world of strife,
Food and nourishment provided
Till ur Soul with Thee united,
Be Thou with us that we may
Feel Thy presence here this day.

2 We are like a barren land,
Anxiously await Thy hand,
Thirst and hunger Thou canst quiet,
And Thy will for'er proclaim it
That this bread and wine shall be
Promising eternity.

3 Jesus, we remember Thee,
Grant that our hearts shall be
Filled with gratitude from heaven
Breath of Life from Thee is given,
Therefore spread this table Thine,
Bless Thy sacred bread and wine.

In some hymnals, the editors noted that a hymn's author is unknown to them, and so this artificial "person" entry is used to reflect that fact. Obviously, the hymns attributed to "Author Unknown" "Unknown" or "Anonymous" could have been written by many people over a span of many centuries. Go to person page >
