Representative Text

1 Jesus unerring Pilot, life’s sea is rough and wide,
I need thy constant presence, I need a faithful guide;
I see the surging waters thro’ which my bark must go,
But O my Lord! with thee on board, I’ll safely cross I know.

Refrain:
Jesus unerring Pilot, guide thou my helpless bark
Across life’s stormy sea,
Across life’s stormy sea;
Blest with thy gracious presence, tho’ the voyage be rough and dark,
My soul shall peaceful be,
My soul shall peaceful be.

2 Jesus unerring Pilot, sometimes long are the nights,
Yet thro’ the gathered darkness, I see the distant light;
I know where they are burning no tempests ever sweep,
And that O Lord! with thee on board, I’ll safely cross the deep. [Refrain]

3 Jesus unerring Pilot, to thee is known the way,
To thee appear the dangers, thou canst all fears allay.
The rocks may line the ocean, washed by its whitened foam,
But O my Lord! with thee on board, I’ll safely reach my home. [Refrain]

4 Jesus unerring Pilot, no boat however tossed,
With thee, can in the billows or on the rocks be lost;
Beside the peaceful haven, beyond the breakers’ roar,
O mighty Lord! with thee on board, I’ll reach the heav’nly shore. [Refrain]
