What Though the Tempests Rage

What though the tempests rage around thee

Author: Helen R. Young
Tune: [What though the tempests rage around thee]
Published in 1 hymnal

Representative Text

1 What tho’ the tempests rage around thee,
Child of the living God?
Fear not to tread with faith and courage
Where thy Redeemer trod;
Fail not to bear the gospel banner,
Fear not the world’s cold scorn;
Tho' now the night be dark with sorrow,
Joy cometh with the morn.

2 Strong is the Hand that leads thee forward,
Changeless the Father’s love;
Dread not the surging waves below thee,
Fear not the clouds above;
Hold fast the promise of salvation,
And to the end endure;
Ever be faithful to thy calling,
And thy reward is sure.
