The composer is one or both of the compilers of the 1848 Harp of Columbia, William H. Swan and Marcus Lafayette Swan, (1827-1869) Wiliam H. Swan refers either to William H. Swan, Jr., 1798-18??, father of Marcus Lafayette Swan (1827-1869), or (less likely) to the latter's cousin William Harvey Swan (1816-1892). Go to person page >
