153. Awake! Let God Be Praised Now

1 Awake! Let God be praised now.
My heart, let thou be raised now.
Live on, with soul and spirit
According to His merit.

2 Once more His dawn has broken
And gives thee, as a token:
His love throughout this new day
To help and guide on thy way.

3 Thou canst now tread securely
His pathway, and most surely
Assign thy very being
To Him, at dawn's first seeing.

4 Oh let His blessings move thee,
And, evermore, to prove thee
That He will e'er protect you,
From evils that affect you.

5 Therefore, with renewed praises
My heart, its voice now raises:
"Once more hast Thou so saved me
From evils which enslaved me."

6 Forever while I'm living
My thanks I will be giving,
And then when ends life's story:
Amen, to God the Glory!
