1 Those who will sow in sorrow
And meekly bear Christ's cross,
With faith await tomorrow;
They will not suffer loss.
Their shepherd Jesus, leads them
To pastures green and fair,
For they have shared His suff'ring
And He'll reward them there.
2 With gladness they will harvest
Beyond the cross, the crown.
Their rest will be eternal,
Midst roses they'll sit down.
The Lord Himself refreshes
Their souls with heav'nly fare;
And in that realm of angels
There'll be no tears or care.
3 Their days are full of sorrow;
With tears they eat their bread.
The yoke they bear is heavy;
Their sins they do regret.
That's why they travel slowly
And often pause to pray
For hope and for endurance
When help seems far away.
4 When their travail is over,
With gladness they appear,
The cross that was so heavy
Nor more they have to fear.
The last days are revealing
Go's ways are always best,
When at the cross they're kneeling
They will find peace and rest.
5 The end will be in seeing
What was their hope at night,
In innocence they trusted,
Which made their light shine bright.
The Lamb is there to guide them,
Where laden tables wait,
Sweet pleasures will await them
Within the Holy Gate.
