1 If Jesus walks with you
What does it matter
How dark the day may be
Or how bad the weather?
If Jesus walks with you
You're filled with gladness
For comfort fills the heart
And bans all sadness.

2 If Jesus walks with you
You're bound for heaven.
No greater wealth this world
Has ever given.
Your happiness will show
Through tears and sorrow
If you anticipate
That great Tomorrow.

3 The soul that's heaven bound
Is well contented
Though small its portion be
For God did send it.
The vanity on earth
With all its pleasures
Can never be compared
With heaven's treasures.

4 If Jesus walks with you
That's all that's needed
No cross roads or detours
Have to be heeded.
If Jesus walks with you
What does it matter
Though Satan and his hosts
All band together?

5 If Jesus walks with you
You're well protected.
Though great your sins may be
You're not affected.
Let lightning strike the world,
Tear it asunder.
If Jesus walks with you
You'll ne'er go under.

6 When Jesus says "Well done,
Thou faithful servant!"
No riches ever will
Excel that moment.
The devil's fearful threat
Cannot appall us
We follow joyfully
When Jesus calls us.
