1 They say my Lord was but a man
Who struggled on like you and me
To give the world a perfect plan
Of what a perfect man should be.

But I know He has redeemed me,
From my sin he set me free,

For He died on Calvary.

2 They say my Saviour could not be
The Son of God my Lord divine;
That He was but a man like me,

He could not suffer in my stead;
