63. When He Shed His Blood

1 On the cruel cross they nailed Him,
There to die in agony;
But He gave His life a ransom,
Just to set sin’s captives free.

2 In His love He came to suffer,
All the fallen to redeem,
Mercy’s offer still is open,
Still there’s life in Calv’ry’s stream. [Refrain]

3 In ourselves we merit nothing,
All our works must be in vain;
Only through the Blood of Jesus,
Can we life Eternal gain. [Refrain]

4 What a wonderful salvation!
What a depth of love is shown,
In the sacrifice of Jesus,
In the blood that does atone. [Refrain]
