Text: | Bless Me, O thou Bleeding Lamb |
Author: | W. H. Luckenbach |
Tune: | [To thee, O Lamb of God] |
Composer: | Jno. R. Sweney |
1 To thee, O Lamb of God, to thee
I come, with all my fears;
With all the sins that burden me,
In penitence and tears.
Refrain:
Oh, receive me, Lord, I pray,
Weak and sinful though I am;
Take, oh, take my sins away;
Bless me, O thou bleeding Lamb!
2 Thy open wounds supply the balm
That heals the suff’ring heart;
‘Tis only this, thou precious Lamb,
Can life and health impart. [Refrain]
3 Be merciful, O Lam of God,
Hear this, my only plea,—
That thou canst cleanse me by thy blood,—
Have mercy then on me. [Refrain]
4 Thy saving blood, of greater worth
Than aught the world hath given,
Shall be my last blest song on earth,
And first glad theme in heaven. [Refrain]
