| Text: | The Golden Shore |
| Author: | F. J. C. |
| Tune: | [Our boat is on a stormy sea] |
| Composer: | W. H. Doane |
1 Our boat is on a stormy sea,
But O there’s One above us
Who rules the waves and guides the oar,
To reach the golden shore.
Refrain:
The golden shore, the balmy shore,
Beyond life a stormy ocean;
The sunny shore where tears are o’er,
And friends shall part no more.
2 We’ll cling to Him, our loving Lord,
Nor fear the rolling billow;
Though dark the night, our faith is bring,
We see the distant shore. [Refrain]
3 Row on, row on with steady hand;
Look up, the clouds are breaking;
O rapture sweet! our weary feet
Can almost touch the shore. [Refrain]
4 O blissful song from yonder throng
That haste to bid us welcome;
Our toil is done, our crown is won,
Praise God! we’re on the shore. [Refrain]
