S.XVI. Now the Saviour Stands a pleading

1 Now the Saviour Stands a pleading
At the Sinner's bolted Heart,
Now in Heav'n is interceding,
Undertaking Sinners Part.

Chorus:
Sinners can you hate the Saviour,
Can you thrust him from your Arms;
Here he died for your Behaviour,
Now he calls you to his Charms.

2 Now he pleads his Sweat and Bloodshed,
Shews his wounded Hands and Feet--
Father save them tho' they're Blood Red,
Raise them to an heav'nly Seat. [Chorus]

3 Sinners hear your God and Saviour,
Hear his gracious Voice to-Day:
Turn from all your base Behaviour,
Now return, repent and pray. [Chorus]

4 Open now your Hearts before him,
Bid your Saviour welcome in;
Now receive, and love, adore him,
Take a full Discharge of Sin, [Chorus]

5 Now he's waiting to be gracious,
Now he stands and looks on thee;
See what Kindness, Love, and Pity,
Shines around, on you and me. [Chorus]

6 Come! for all Things now are ready--
Yet there's Room for many more.
O ye Blind, ye Lame, and Needy,
Come to Grace's boundless Store. [Chorus]
