1 I want to live for Jesus,
And feel as christians feel
A gladness all unbounded,
A joy I can’t conceal;
A sinner’s life is darkness ‘tis leading me astray,
I want to go to Jesus, and to follow in His way.

My Saviour bids me come;

And forever be at home.

2 I want to live for Jesus,
And pray as christians pray,
For pardon of the sins
Commited day by day;
To be made pure and holy, grow gentle as a dove,
To feel the peace and presence of a Saviour’s pard’ning love. [Refrain]

And sing as christians sing,
To know the happy feeling
That doing right does bring;
And be made ever ready where angle spirits come,
