1 Acquaint thyself with Jesus,
The sinner’s truest Friend;
A privilege most blessed
To all He doth extend.
His love for man surpasses
The warmest earthly love;
Acquaint thyself with Jesus,
And His true friendship prove.

2 Acquaint thyself with Jesus,
No one like Him could lead;
No other friend can help you
In every time of need.
No other feels so deeply
For all thy care and grief;
Acquaint thyself with Jesus,
And He will give relief.

3 Acquaint thyself with Jesus,
And like Him thou shalt be;
Transformed into His image,
For all eternity.
Accept His offered mercy,
Come, now, His promise claim;
Acquaint thyself with Jesus,
And spread abroad His fame.
