44. Strait is the Gate

1 God tells us in His word
Two ways before us lie,
One leads to sorrow, shame and death,
One to His Home on high.

Chorus:
"Strait is the gate and narrow is the way,
Strive to enter in," O hear the master say;
Strait is the gate and narrow is the way,
Leading to the land of everlasting day.

2 His Spirit pleads within,
O, listen to His voice;
His grace will help the yielding soul
To make the happy choice. [Chorus]

3 Whatever foes arise,
You meet them not alone;
The blessed hand that bled for you,
Will guide you to the throne. [Chorus]

4 Then daily walk with God,
And never turn astray;
For those who lean upon His arm,
He keeps from day to day. [Chorus]
