Text: | My Lord and King |
Author: | Katharine E. Purvis |
Tune: | [I was blind when Jesus found me] |
Arranger: | J. M. Black |
1 I was blind when Jesus found me
Far astray in sin’s dark ways,
Now the light is shining ‘round me,
And my soul is filled with praise.
Refrain:
I will love Him, and adore Him,
Songs of praise my heart shall sing,
Till, some day, I stand before Him
And behold my Lord and King.
2 I was poor; the things I treasured
All had failed and left no trace,
Now my wealth is only measured,
By His stores of love and grace. [Refrain]
3 I was sad, bereft, forsaken,
Bowed with guilt, with fear oppressed.
Now my soul His yoke has taken,
And I find in Him sweet rest. [Refrain]
4 While each day new joy is bringing,
From the hand to which I cling,
I go homeward ever singing
Praise to Him, my Lord and King. [Refrain]
