Text: | Dwell On the Mountain |

Tune: | [Dwell on the mountain, ‘tis the privilege to know] |
Composer: | G. W. Elderkin |
1 Dwell on the mountain, ‘tis the privilege to know
The height of God’s love to his children below;
Why live in the valley when he calleth thee
To rise above the dark’ning clouds his light to see?
Refrain:
Dwell on the mountain where the view is clear,
Climb to its tow’ring peak and to thy Lord be near;
Haste from the valley so dark and drear,
And stand upon the mountain where the view is clear.
2 Dwell on the mountain, ‘tis the Lord that calleth thee
To rise ‘bove the world, from its sin to be free;
Arise to the call of God, O why delay,
Why labor on in darkness when his gift is day? [Refrain]
3 Dwell on the mountain, ‘tis Jehovah’s high command,
He bids thee go up and possess the goodly land;
There he now awaits us, we shall victors be,
And wear a heav’nly crown thro’out eternity. [Refrain]
