Text: | In The Shadow of Thy Wing |
Author: | Amelia M. Starkweather |
Tune: | [He that dwelleth in the presence] |
Composer: | Jno. R. Sweney |
1. He that dwelleth in the presence
Of the Highest shall abide
Where no trouble ever cometh,
Where no evil can betide.
Chorus:
Hide me in the secret
Of Thy presence, oh my King,
Where the storms may ever gather,
In the shadow of Thy wing.
2. When the clouds of sorrow gather,
And the billows o'er me roll,
Safe within His blest pavilion
He will hide my weary soul. [Chorus]
3. I will plead the precious promise
Of His tender, loving care
For the destitute and needy,
And He will regard my pray'r. [Chorus]
4. And the angry waves shall slumber
At the bidding of His will;
He will calm the raging tumult,
With His gentle, "Peace, be still." [Chorus]
