| Text: | His Love in My Soul |
| Author: | Rev. Richard H. Gilbert |
| Tune: | [There’s a glad, happy song that my heart loves to sing] |
| Composer: | Wm. J. King |
1 There’s a glad, happy song that my heart loves to sing,
Since Christ by His own precious blood made me whole;
It is not a mere fancy, but sweet, blessed fact,
And ‘tis this, that I know I’ve His love in my soul.
Refrain:
His love my soul is telling o’er and o’er,
And sinners ‘round the tidings shall hear;
His love, for me so rich and free,
He will give to thee, a fountain of blessing.
2 This sweet song in my heart helps me, day after day,
In each trial and sorrow the vict’ry to win;
And I’ll bless Him for making me able to say
That His all-cleansing blood now saves me from sin. [Refrain]
3 That most blessed of books, the sweet scripture of truth,
The message most dear to my sad heart first brought;
But no tongue can the story with fullness set forth,
Of the joy that His love in my spirit has wrought. [Refrain]
4 Then onward with Jesus, without doubt or fear,
Rejoicing, content in His Spirit’s control;
And I’ll tell o’er and o’er unto all who will hear,
The sweetness and pow’r of His love in my soul. [Refrain]
