611. Once More to Thee, O Lord

1 Once more to Thee, O Lord,
A family we come,
As from our varied work abroad
The ev’ning calls us home;
Lord, lift from ev’ry heart
The load of anxious care,
While drawing from the world apart,
We join in fervent pray’r.

2 O let Thy love and pow’r
Our ev’ry thought control,
And at this holy evening hour
Draw heavenward each soul!
The lives which Thou dost spare
Belong, O Lord, to Thee;
O may we own a Father’s care
And loving children be!
