| Text: | The Golden Harvest |
| Author: | Rev. W. T. Dale |
| Tune: | [Go forth, ye heralds of the cross] |
| Composer: | T. Frank Allen |
1 Go forth, ye heralds of the cross,
Prepare the highway of the Lord;
His cause must never suffer loss,
Go forth! proclaim His gracious Word!
Chorus:
We have a glorious work to do,
Let each one with the dawn begin;
And as we sow God sends the dew,
At last the sheaves are gathered in.
2 Arise with morning’s early dawn!
And as the sun ascends the sky,
With ceaseless step your way pursue,
Improve the moments as they fly. [Chorus]
3 A golden harvest lies in view,
And there’s abundant work for all;
Behold! the harvesters are few,
O who will answer to the call? [Chorus]
