High above the sandy beach,
Where no sudden wave can shock,
Where no beating tide can reach?

Are you hearing and obeying?
Are you working, watching, praying?
Tell me, does your dwelling stand
On the rock, or on the sand?

2 Like the tides years come and go;
Tell me, are you very sure
That they will not overthrow
